Hundreds throng around City Hall to demand Mayor Ford’s resignation

Hundreds of protesters thronged around Toronto’s city hall  to demand the resignation of  Mayor Rob Ford following a slew of scandals relating to the Mayor’s personal conduct and the level of moral perfectness. Touting the event as  “Stand Up For Toronto – Let’s Demand Rob Ford’s Resignation,” the protesters chanted slogans at downtown’s Nathan Phillips Square on this humid but less than perfect summer day.

Chanting aside, overzealous organizers offered chalk to the attendees  to leave messages on concrete of their “vision for a better Toronto.”

Despite being dogged by allegations ranging from substance uses to financial impropriety, Ford is as yet unfazed and remains stubbornly resistant to the idea of quitting his mayoral assignment.
